How to Use Scenturion®
What's the basic process for treating any piece of gear?
Shake well before using, spray the item until it’s damp and no odor remains, then let it dry completely, ideally overnight, before wearing or using it again.
Before You Start: Fabric Check
Scenturion® is not recommended for use on suede, silk, or fabrics that may water spot. We recommend spraying a small, inconspicuous test area first before treating the entire item, especially on leather goods.
Let It Dry Overnight
Wearing gear before it’s fully dry can lift the Scenturion® coating off through contact, the same way stepping in wet paint tracks it elsewhere. Drying overnight also lets the coating fully bond to the fibers, which is what makes the protection last for weeks or months instead of a single use.

Footwear (Cleats, Skates, Boots, Sneakers)
If the insole is removable, take it out and spray the entire floor of the shoe, then invert it and spray down into the toe box. Coat the heel area, tongue, and sides until damp, then spray both sides of the insole separately. Let both pieces dry overnight before reassembling. Well-worn shoes with visible sweat rings on the outside should be treated inside and out. New footwear should be well-coated from the start so your sweat activates the coating before scent has a chance to build up.
Gloves and Other Handwear
Turn the glove inside out if possible and spray until damp with no odor detectable, then let it dry overnight before turning it right-side out. If it can’t be turned inside out, coat the entire glove thoroughly, especially the finger stalls, palm, and wrist cuffs, and let it dry completely before wearing.

Hats, Helmets, and Headgear
Treat all fabric on the inside of the item. If a liner can be removed, spray both sides separately. Let dry overnight before wearing again.
Pads, Body Suits, and Bibs
Treat the inside and outside of the entire garment, spraying until no odor remains. Let it dry overnight before the next use. If the item gets washed, reapply a fresh coat afterward for full effectiveness.

Bags, Car Interiors, and Locker Areas
Spray to fully coat the surface until no odor remains and allow it to dry overnight. This works on gym bags, gear bags, car carpet and seats, and locker or mat surfaces the same way.
Wrestling Mats and Exercise Mats
After the mat has been cleaned as usual, spray a fine mist of Scenturion® over the entire surface and let it dry, usually five to ten minutes, before use. Continue washing the mat as usual after each use, and retreat with Scenturion® about once a week for ongoing protection between cleanings.

Also Works Great On
Beyond athletic gear, the same spray treats a wider range of household and everyday items:
Pet bedding and crates
Home furnishings and mattresses
Carpeting
Auto carpet and seats
Tents and sleeping bags
When to Reapply
There’s no fixed schedule. Once the odor is gone, protection is designed to last three to four months, or up to 30 machine washings. Simply retreat the item as soon as you notice even the faintest hint of odor returning.
Got Questions?
We've Got Answers!
- How much Scenturion® do I need per item?
One 16 oz. bottle treats several pairs of shoes plus a full bag of gear, though older or heavily worn items with a deeper bacterial buildup may need a second application.
- Should I treat brand-new gear?
Yes. Treating new footwear, clothing, or gear from day one gives the strongest, most durable protection and helps it stay odor-free longer between washes.
- Can Scenturion® be used on leather?
Yes, on most leather. It’s not recommended for suede or fabrics that may water spot, and testing a small area first is recommended for any leather item.
