Why do scent-masking sprays fail in the field?
Masking sprays cover human scent temporarily with a competing smell, but they don’t work against the bacteria producing that scent, so once the spray wears off, often within hours, the odor is right back.
Most hunting clothing, footwear, and gear odor comes from bacteria delivered by sweat. The rest comes from fatty acids, urea, ammonia, and steroids also present in sweat. - How is this different from a scent-masking hunting spray?
Masking sprays cover odor temporarily. Scenturion® is formulated to work against the bacteria that cause it and keeps working every time gear gets wet from sweat, rain, or dew.
- How long does treated hunting gear stay protected?
Protection is designed to last three to four months once properly treated, or up to 30 machine washings, and it can be reapplied to any item whenever the faintest odor returns.
- Is it safe on waders and leather boots?
Yes. Scenturion® is designed for both washable and non-washable items, including leather, without affecting breathability or waterproofing. It’s not recommended for suede or fabrics that may water spot; test a small area first.
