The Science of Odor-Free Gear

Most gear odor comes from bacteria carried in sweat. The rest comes from fatty acids, urea, ammonia, and steroids your body also sheds when you perspire, all of which soak into padding, leather, and fabric.

Scenturion® is a clear, flexible micro-coating fortified with pure nanosilver, formulated to inhibit the growth of 99.9% of the microorganisms that cause odor and staining. The silver particles are small enough that roughly 1,000 of them could line up across the width of a single human hair. That scale lets them attach directly to the individual fibers of fabric or the surface of leather, forming what Scenturion® calls its Ionic Shield®: a coating that keeps treated gear microbe-free and breaks the cycle of repeat exposure.

Most odor sprays work once and fade. Scenturion® is designed to do the opposite. Every time treated gear is exposed to moisture, whether that’s sweat, rain, or morning dew, the nanosilver coating releases silver ions that go back to work against the microorganisms that cause odor. That’s the core difference between Scenturion® and a typical one-and-done antimicrobial spray: use activates it.

Fragrance masks odor. It doesn’t eliminate the bacteria causing it, and a strong scent can actually hide the earliest warning sign that odor is returning. Because Scenturion® is built to address the cause rather than cover the smell, it’s formulated without any added fragrance on purpose. When you notice the faintest hint of odor again, that’s your cue that it’s time to reapply.

Once an item is properly treated and the odor is gone, protection is designed to hold for three to four months of normal wear, or up to 30 machine washings, whichever comes first. There’s no fixed schedule to track. Simply retreat the item whenever the slightest odor starts to return.
